I loved this “Cinderella.” First of all, Victor Garber. Second of all, Brandy in the cute years.
This is the best version of Cinderella and it’s not even close.
Aside from the fact that I really do think this version is superior to all other versions of Cinderella, I cannot even BEGIN to tell you what an unbelievable difference it made to my self-esteem as an unpretty biracial black girl who loved musicals, to see a black Cinderella fall in love with a PoC prince who was the son of an interracial royal couple.
I am just REALLY FUCKING GLAD this movie exists.

Literally the greatest version of Cinderella ever (Ever After is an extremely close second).
Seriously, as a little girl this was my most favorite movie and going back now and watching it is so much fun because the racial-blind casting was awesome.

I loved this movie, but I never really understood how a black mom and a white dad made an Asian baby. Someone please explain this to me.
Well I for one am VERY PROUD OF YOU for admitting in public that you can wrap your head around fairy godmothers and transforming-pumpkin coaches but not race-blind casting. Accepting you have a problem is the first step.
